How long does it take to get kitchen splashbacks installed?
Kitchen splashback installation typically takes 10-15 working days from initial templating to completion. This includes on-site measuring, glass splashback manufacturing, quality control, and professional fitting. Specialist finishes like toughened mirrors and toughened antique mirror splashbacks require additional quality control and may take 15-20 working days. Bespoke kitchen splashbacks with custom colours or digitally printed designs can take longer depending on artwork approvals and colour sampling. The actual installation takes 2-4 hours once your glass splashback is ready.
Can glass splashbacks go behind a gas hob?
Yes, our toughened glass splashbacks are heat resistant up to 400°C and safe for use behind gas and electric hobs. All main kitchen splashback finishes including painted glass, glitter effects, and toughened mirrors are suitable for hob areas. We recommend a minimum 50mm clearance from the burner to the glass surface. Regular mirrors are not heat resistant and are not recommended behind hobs - if chosen for this area, installation is at the customer's own risk. Very small splashback panels may be supplied in regular glass where toughening isn't possible, which we'll advise during your consultation.
How do I choose the right colour for my kitchen splashback?
We offer a popular in-house colour library with our most requested glass splashback shades, perfect for quick selection. For specific requirements, we can match to major colour charts including RAL, BS, and Pantone, plus a like-for-like matching service if you have an existing sample to match. For bespoke kitchen splashback colours, we provide one free glass sample so you can see it in your space before committing. Additional colour samples are available at £15 including VAT each.
